Program Description

The two-year program is tailored towards meeting the needs of modern and expanding business activities and undertakes those areas of business knowledge that are most sought by employers. The program offers a wide array of courses and practical work that aim to enhance the student's critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting, finance, economics, law, and technology is backed up by real-time projects, case studies, and internships. The program offers the knowledge, skills, and expertise required to pursue a wide spectrum of roles as accounting and finance professionals, business consultants, and corporate leaders. The program serves the needs of academics as well and prepares students for research and teaching in business studies.

The syllabus is intended to progressively widen and deepen the knowledge, skills, and professional values as per the requirement of the ACCA syllabus. ACCA has granted exemption of 4 papers (F-1 to F-4) and the syllabus not only covers all the papers of ACCA at the knowledge and skills module level but also wraps two papers of professional level. More specifically, the syllabus completely covers 11 papers of ACCA out of 14 papers.

  • Comprehensive preparation of 14 papers out of 21 papers for CMA program.
  • Complete coverage of the PIPFA program.

Career Prospects

A commerce degree is one of those which can be used for wider interdisciplinary branches, including accountancy, business administration, e-commerce, finance, economics, and marketing, etc. With the introduction of CPEC, Pakistan's economy is growing very rapidly and becoming very attractive in terms of investment. The commerce graduates are equally needed for the industry as talented professionals as well as for setting up new businesses, to contribute towards the growth of the economy. They are fully competent to become a company secretary in public sector companies with a very smart package. They can also opt for a field of income tax petitioner after getting another degree of LLB. Along with Law, these commerce graduates also have opportunities to get admission in MBA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, ACMA, CFA, MPhil Economics, and MPhil Management Sciences for further enhancement in their employability.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

The university welcomes applications from candidates:
  • Who have successfully completed 14 years of education (BA / BSc / BCom or any other equivalent degree).
  • Secured at least 45% marks (in annual system) or CGPA of 2.0/4.0 (in semester system) or equivalent.
