Program Description

The aim of this two-year program leading to associated degree is to provide the students with a foundation in the functions of business organizations in the areas of Accounting & Finance. The program is designed to equip the student as much as possible knowledge for accomplishment of this task by offering a broad range of course work, emphasizing and developing soft skills in the students and providing students with real work experience through real time projects and internships. Accountancy, financial management, information technology, business laws, taxation, management techniques, critical thinking, and problem solving are the main components of the curriculum.

A two-year undergraduate associate degree in accounting and finance places students in a good position for entry-level positions in the financial sector. In a variety of industries, including corporate finance, banking, or consulting, they can pursue jobs as accounting assistants, bookkeepers, accounts payable or receivable clerks, payroll administrators, or financial analysts. These experts support budgeting, financial reporting, data analysis, and financial recordkeeping. Opportunities to climb to higher-level roles like staff accountants, financial managers, or investment analysts may present themselves with experience and more schooling. With a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a similar discipline, this degree can be used as a solid starting point for people who want to pursue a career as a certified public accountant, financial adviser, or financial analyst. ADAF also provides seamless admittance in the fifth semester of undergraduate/ equivalent degree programs (BSAF, BCom (Hons.), BSBE, BBA) offered in the same discipline without any deficiency course.

Program Objectives

The goals of the two-year ADE degree program are:

  • To prepare the students for skill development and capacity building in the field of accounting and finance.
  • To equip them with as much as possible knowledge in the relevant areas through theory and practical exposure, which will enable them to perform essential.
  • To equip the students with the knowledge and skills of computer technology in accounting and finance for improved decision-making.
  • To enable students to evaluate problems and innovations in accounting and finance and their impact on managerial decision-making.
  • To make them capable of applying techniques and tools of accounting and finance for the evaluation of costs and benefits of strategic decisions.
  • To enable students to continue further studies in relevant BS programs.

Admissions and Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Eligibility: The University welcomes applications from students who have successfully completed up to Grade 12 schooling with minimum of 45% score. The more specific criteria follow:
  • FSC (Pre-Engineering / Pre-Medical)
  • Intermediate with Arts or General Science or Commerce
  • Advanced Levels (A Levels)
  • Any other equivalent grade 12 degree approved by the Ministry of Education.
