Prof. Dr. Shahid Qureshi is Rector of GIFT University. Dr. Shahid Qureshi has a Ph.D. from TU Berlin, an MBA from LUMS, and an MSc from AIT-Thailand. Dr. Shahid is a fellow of the Babson Business School with expertise in entrepreneurship pedagogy, research, and entrepreneurial centers. He has been teaching at TU Berlin, the Frankfurt School of Finance, Kempton School of Business, and the SP Jain School of Business – Dubai. He has been instrumental in promoting entrepreneurial education in Pakistan. He is a well-acclaimed researcher and speaker in the area of entrepreneurship. He has previously served at IBA Karachi i.e., one of the leading business schools in Pakistan as a Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED).
He is currently serving as the board member of IGNITE (National ICT R&D Fund, Government of Pakistan) and Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Karachi. He has consulted at a national and international level to help start-up entrepreneurial centers. His research focuses on entrepreneurship, technology-based firms, and entrepreneurial universities. He has published impact factor research in various outlets such as Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship and International Journal of Business and Social Science etc. Dr. Shahid designed the award-winning course for Women Entrepreneurship Program which was recognized by the USASBE (United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) in Jan 2017 & 2021.
Dr. Qureshi has been working on a vision of converting Pakistani universities into entrepreneurial universities having applied perspective i.e., converting knowledge into practical experience. Throughout his career, he has mentored hundreds of start-ups and trained faculty of other universities to promote entrepreneurial development in Pakistan. Currently, Dr. Shahid is helping GIFT University in becoming an Entrepreneurial University.
